Business goal​

• They had made changes to their operating model to diversify their product portfolio in response to evolving customer demand.​
• Following the restructuring, they aimed to enhance collaboration and work processes, particularly after a survey revealed that employees were feeling overworked​
• They wanted to understand what work is being performed, by whom and in which area of the business, identify areas for improvement, and recalibrate job roles

Solution​

• Orgvue partnered with the Head of FP&A to develop the activity taxonomy and test their existing hypothesis​
• They sent Survey via Orgvue to 78 employees to gather activity data​
• Findings:​
  • Found that 12% of FTE felt they do work which their role shouldn’t work on due to ‘legacy processes’​
  • Identified £450k of rework costs, with ‘Planning and Forecasting’ as top activity with avoidable rework​
  • Found that 65% of mid-level managers do not have all necessary resources to perform their roles​
  • Identified the top 6 areas for technology improvements​
• Upskilled OD&E team to be self-sufficient in conducting further projects and conducted 2 more activity analysis within a 3-month period​
