Cherene Powell is a Managing Director with Accenture Strategy. She partners with C-suite leaders to architect broad-based reinvention in service of activating the business strategy. She has held various Global and North America leadership roles spanning strategy, thought leadership, and business operations
Cherene has 20+ years of consulting experience working with Fortune 1000 clients to define strategy and execute reinvention agendas. Her areas of expertise include: strategy activation, enterprise and multi-function operating model and organization design, architecting ambitious operating expense reduction agendas, as well as the necessary adaptation of talent and culture to drive change in support of achieving strategy for growth and competitive differentiation. Cherene has advised and partnered with 50+ companies – including multiple Fortune10 – across multiple industries including (but not limited to) pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer goods and services, retail, energy, communications, media, and software & platforms.
As the current North America Lead of Accenture’s Operating Model and Organization Design practice, Cherene leads Accenture’s go-to-market activities, which includes the integration of Kates Kesler methodologies and expertise, which Accenture acquired in 2020. In addition to serving as a frequent keynote speaker and subject matter expert at industry forums, Cherene has published topics related to new operating models, the promise of new technological advancements and the implication to workforce and culture, and the intersection of business and psychology. This includes FORTUNE, CFO.com, CFO Magazine, Accenture.com, and the book “Rethinking Operating Models”.
Cherene has been externally recognized as an influential business leader including being named as a 2016 industry Luminary by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, as a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF), which she attended the annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland, an Accenture delegate in 2025.
Cherene graduated from the College of St. Benedict / St. John’s University with a double degree in Political Science and Communication. She has continued her higher education with programs at Northwestern Kellogg School of Business, the University of Chicago-Booth, and MIT.

She brings deep pharmaceutical industry experience and a strong understanding of the end-to-end pharma value chain, spanning R&D, clinical development, regulatory, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, commercial, medical affairs, market access, and enabling functions. Shikha has extensive experience working with FTSE 100 and global life sciences companies to shape the right organisation strategy and deliver organisational change in a way that balances risk and growth priorities while driving meaningful behavioural change across people and organisations. She has a strong track record of leading cross-geographic, multi-disciplinary operating model design, transformation, activation, implementation, and transition programmes, as well as culture and leadership change. Shikha holds an MBA in Finance and International Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
