Open surveys with activity and competency lists set your way

Orgvue product update

Published by Orgvue

The first view of a survey shapes how easily participants can understand the task ahead.

Orgvue survey administrators can now choose whether activity and competency lists start expanded or collapsed.

Screenshot of the Orgvue survey configuration page showing the “Select activities” section. A highlighted toggle labeled “Show items expanded by default” is enabled, with red callouts drawing attention to the setting. This option allows survey administrators to display activity groups and activities in an expanded state when participants first open the activity selection page, making available options visible without requiring manual expansion.

Start a shorter list expanded when it helps participants see their options immediately. Start a longer or more detailed list collapsed when a compact overview makes the survey easier to navigate. In both cases, participants see the structure you intended from the moment they begin.

The setting is chosen when the survey is created, giving administrators control over the initial experience without requiring instructions for each participant to rearrange the page.

Use the option that best fits the length of the taxonomy and the guidance you want participants to follow. A deliberate starting state can reduce visual overload and help people focus on one part of the survey at a time.
